Putnam Democrats Reorganization Meeting

Democratic leaders from across Putnam County gathered on September 23rd for their annual reorganization meeting. Several candidates came to address the crowd of district leaders. Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg, who is running for re-election to Assembly District 95, emphasized her commitment to building communities that are environmentally and economically healthy, as well as physically and mentally healthy.

Randall Mulkins, candidate for Putnam County Legislature District 4, emphasized his dedication to service to both community and country as the President of the Patterson Fire Department and Emergency Care Sergeant in the US Army. His goal is to serve the people of Patterson and Putnam by improving the County’s emergency services and protecting the environment.

Legislator Nancy Montgomery, who is running unopposed in District 1, focused on the need for greater transparency in our County government and called for cooperative collaboration so that all of Putnam County may truly thrive.

The members of the Putnam County Democratic Committee re-elected Jennifer Colamonico as County Chair, acknowledging her leadership in strengthening the presence and unification of the Putnam Committee and her Putnam Purple initiative to raise money to grow our impact. Kathy Kahng of Kent was re-elected as First Vice Chair; Zach Disador of Southeast as Third Vice Chair, and Marsha Waldman of Carmel as Treasurer. Janice Hogan (former Philipstown chair) stepped into the role of Secretary and Karen Freede of Putnam Valley was newly elected as Second Vice Chair.

In her remarks, Chair Colamonico talked about the incredible investment made by the NY State Democratic Committee and Governor Kathy Hochul in the coordinated campaign that has brought a campaign office and two paid organizers in Putnam. This team is leading a field operation across Putnam the likes of which have not been seen in many years (if ever). [All of our endorsed candidates are listed on our website.]

Photos feature a backdrop that was created using signage brought back from the Democratic National Convention - this added to the high spirits and optimism of the evening’s event, channeling the great energy that VP Harris has brought to the party. Across all six towns, Putnam Democrats are organized and mobilizing more than ever to take back NY17 and elect Democrats all across Row A.
